Busted! Don’t Believe These Marketing Jobs Myths!
If you’re looking for a career at a company that offers challenges and proportionate rewards, joining a marketing firm will be your best choice. You can plan promotional campaigns, study consumer behavior and help them find products that will change their lives. However, you may come across several myths and misconceptions surrounding this industry when considering a direct marketing job. Believing in these false facts will dissuade you from receiving career opportunities and possibly a way to earn a considerable income. To help you steer clear of the misconceptions, Newbern Excel has debunked two of the most widely believed myths about direct marketing jobs.
Myth 1: A direct marketing company is similar to a multi-level marketing (MLM) company
This is not true. Most of the candidates we meet think that Newbern Excel works as a multi-level marketing (MLM) company. But this is not true. There is a difference between a direct marketing firm and a multi-level marketing company. Direct marketing or sales describes a business model where products and services are sold through a network of independent contractors, representatives, or distributors. The salespeople are paid based on their personal sales rather than on building an organization of other salespeople.
Multi-level marketing companies work with a similar business model. But, the difference between them is that they offer retail commissions that are much lower as more of the available commissions are directed toward bonuses paid to various management people in the sponsor tree.
Myth 2: Marketing jobs are contracted and taxed
At Newbern Excel, we only work with form W-4. We do not provide contracts or have 1099 for our employees. If you need more job and salary information, get in touch with us by clicking here.
